Yasmin Ayala (20, Inglewood, California) defies stereotypes everyday by pursuing her dream of becoming a journalist. Yasmin attends a state-funded program for adults with developmental disabilities, where she studies journalism and acting. Not only is Yasmin working on her own professional goals, but she is additionally working to increase the awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities in the entertainment industry; she acts as a representative of her program at red carpet interviews. Yasmin’s success helps to motivate the over 100 other students in her program with developmental disabilities to reach their own goals.
